Tbilisi is currently hosting the
Georgia-Saudi Arabia Business Forum, which commenced on February 15 with a welcoming address delivered by Levan Davitashvili, the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and His Excellency Khalid A. Al-Falih, the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia.
The business event convened approximately 300 delegates from both the local and foreign sectors, encompassing a diverse representation of the governmental and private sectors from Georgia and Saudi Arabia.
At the official invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Chairman of the International Oil, Petroleum Products and Gas Committee of the
BCAGC – Mohammed Ibrahim attended the business forum.
As you are aware, during the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum held on October 27, 2023, a memorandum was signed to establish a joint business council between the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Saudi Chambers. It is worth noting that the forum was attended by 110 delegates from various Asian and Gulf countries.
The primary objective of the signed memorandum was to enhance bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as to promote investments, thereby fostering a positive impact on the relationship.
BCAGC, as a reputable organization dedicated to fostering diplomatic relationships between Georgia and the Gulf Council countries, wholeheartedly welcomes these activities in our country. Such endeavors undeniably contribute to strengthening inter-country ties, which is of utmost importance.
We highly commend the Georgian government’s policy on enhancing its ties with Arab countries. This commitment is evident not only through the organization of business forums, but also through the successful government visits to the Gulf countries last year.
In this context, it is important to emphasize the proactive engagement of the Business Chamber and its extensive collaboration with the states in the mentioned region. This is exemplified by the successful visit to Saudi Arabia last year, during which the First Vice President of the BCAGC conducted a highly productive meeting with His Excellency Khalid A. Al-Falih, the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia. The Business Chamber of Asian & Gulf Countries remains dedicated to actively collaborating with Gulf countries, with the aim of achieving tangible and substantial outcomes through a cohesive and consistent approach.
